HOWTO: Install ICSSGS RC5 on Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Well I updated my phone to RC5 of ICSSGS released by Team Nyx. Team Nyx, I believe, has come out of what the original team ICSSGS was on the Google Code page I link to in some of my earlier HOWTOs for updating the SGS i9000.

Why they changed name and website is beyond me, I haven't bothered to search or read for an explanation so I'll just groove on it and assume any newer ICSSGS updates would be coming from Team Nyx.

I teach my daughter to share her toys
I like the internet. I've used it since 1998. I liked how back then, it was more about finding out about stuff you didn't know. Now it's more about arguing on social networks, or pictures with captions on them.

That's why I post the stuff on my website.

That's why I don't put ads on my website.

I want the internet to basically be about what it was when I first used it. Being able to search for something, click the link, get taken to a page that doesn't have an array of flashing coloured images or overlaid video advertisements without having to give some company/software "permission" to reap [at least some of] my personal information at its own will.

My brother makes this curry dish called Jungle Curry. It has lychees in it and it's really nice. He won't give me the recipe. I said, "if you wanna download movies off the internet... you gotta share your recipes!"

Sharing is caring.

SNIPPET: Samsung Galaxy S I9000, ICSSGS 4.2 "Low on Disk Space" Notification will not go away, Google Talk won't sign in and GMail will not sync or get new emails
This post is a snippet regarding an annoying notification found in ICSSGS 4.2 where the system places an irremovable "low on disk space" notification in the notification curtain.

The following page at xda-developers.com forum provides a fix for this problem. It is a ClockWork Mod flashable (installable) ZIP file that tells the kernel to move particular data from the /datadata partition elsewhere to free up space on that partition.

I also found that my phone stopped signing into Google Talk and my GMail sync stopped working. These problems were caused by the /datadata partition filling up and were fixed when I applied the script fix.

HOWTO Samsung Galaxy S Teardown (Remove Motherboard and Main Components)
My Galaxy S needed some cleaning so I figured why not tear it apart and document it for the Interarwebs? I have no responsibility so everyone is a winner!

The Galaxy S is much easier to pull apart compared to the HTC Desire HD A9191. Sorry for the poor photos but I usually use this phone to take my photos so I had to use the Galaxy Tab 7 (P1000). And the camera on that thing is friggen USELESS. Also notice that my phone is very dirty, because I am a concretor and it gets really dirty in my pocket. Read More...
